Advancing your resource and portfolio planning, collaboration, and user experience. Here are just some of the new features included in Accolade 16.1...
Enhanced resource planning
This Resource Pools interface was re-written for Accolade 16.0 with a new look to make it efficient for resource planners to find available project resources that belong to a specific pool. Now, in Accolade 16.1, to support resource and scenario planning, you can now easily see each user’s availability for additional work over the upcoming months by viewing a user’s current capacity and the percentage of time left over that has not been assigned to other projects.
To further usability, “Pool Details” was re-written in Accolade 16.1. From a single page, users can view and update pool attributes. The left side of the page has the same functionality as the previous page but is now written with a modern interface to improve your experience. On the right side of the page, users can now easily view resources in the pool and future availability without having to navigate away to another page.
Accolade 16.1 introduces our new “Plan a Project” page. Now resource managers can benefit from a more user-friendly interface for planning project resources. Users can select their projects, and then search for and add resources based on project needs more efficiently. Searches are made easy by simply clicking on a list of resources to quickly determine resource availability during a particular time period.
Advanced portfolio and scenario planning
To support your planning decisions, reports can now include updated scenario data. This includes the data generated within the Portfolio Planner, such as Total, Constraint, and Filter metric names and values. Any data that is edited in the Portfolio Planner, or in Accolade Gantt views, updates the scenario and this updated data can be used in online reporting.
New! Microsoft (MS) Teams management feature
Accolade 16.1 now includes the ability to automatically add Accolade project team members who have a Microsoft license when creating new private or public MS Teams. Project leaders, process managers and other users who create new teams from the Communication Menu on an Accolade project will save time and avoid mistakes by not having to set up MS Teams’ members manually.
New! User administration features
A new “User Auditing” area has been added to Accolade 16.1. Rather than spending time reviewing large amounts of data in low-level web log files, Accolade Administrators involved in business compliance can now save time by viewing which reports were downloaded by each user and when they were downloaded in a separate audit area. This mitigates risk and strengthens compliance by more easily keeping track of report downloads – especially ones that may contain sensitive information.
Accolade 16.1 offers an additional authentication mode (SopheonID), opening the door to a seamless SSO with other Sopheon products which use the underlying Sopheon ID and User Management cross-product capability.
Improved UX/UI
To further usability, improvements were made to the System Menu in Accolade 16.1. The Collaboration and Groups category was renamed “Security & Groups” and any local layouts have been updated to this new category. Security lists and profiles were moved from the system category to the newly renamed “Security & Groups” category. “Workflows” were also moved to the new “Process” category and the default text on the “New Project” button text was changed to “Add New” to make it easier to navigate the menu and simplify the user experience.
Accolade 16.1 introduces a fresh new presentation and experience. The new UI features an updated quick search button that replaces the existing search bar. It also offers a consistent look and feel across all Sopheon products for a seamless experience when other Sopheon products are integrated with Accolade. Users can toggle between the existing “classic” view and the new “Preview area” to give them the choice and flexibility to use the UI that works best for their workflow. This also allows users a chance to gain working knowledge of the new UI before the classic view is retired.
Strengthened process support
Accolade 16.1 simplifies the download of single configuration items to avoid the error prone process of removing unrelated items when transferring a single item between systems. A new “Download” icon has been added on each row to make it simpler to download a single configuration item. The new download option is available on charts, layouts, metrics, quick grids and other configuration areas.
New report feature
UI/UX enhancements have been added to the inline filtering functionality in Accolade 16.1. Users can now navigate more easily using the visually and operationally enhanced filtering elements (Filter by Condition, Filter by Values). These enhancements will shorten your search to find report rows containing specific conditions.
