New functionality & enhancements
Acclaim Projects has a brand new Timeline
With this release, the Timeline View in the Project Editor has received a major upgrade. You can access this from your project's Online Project Editor, under the Timelines tab. This view has the same functionality as the previous Timeline, including the ability to edit dates and durations, and some new added features. Note: If a project is using Reverse Planning mode, the Timeline is read-only.
Additional features with Acclaim Projects' new Timeline:
- Acclaim Projects now allows users to create dependencies and enforce loose dependencies on the Timeline. You can create dependencies between tasks in relation to their Start and Finish dates, directly from the Timelines tab in your Online Project Editor. Furthermore, if a dependency is created in the Timeline, it will be reflected in the project's WBS, and vice-versa.
- Project Managers can also enforce these dependencies from a project's Timeline, if there are any conflicts within the project, hence, pushing out any tasks with such conflicts. For example, if Task B can only start when Task A is completed, and Task A is running late, when the project manager enforces loose dependencies, Task B will start the day after Task A is scheduled to complete. To do this, on the Timelines tab, click on Actions button located to the top right, and select Enforce Loose Dependencies.
- In addition to enforcing loose dependencies, if a project has strict dependencies, the tasks will be automatically pushed out.
- Baselines can now be viewed on the Timeline. To do this, click on View located to the top right of your Timeline, and select the baseline you want to view.
- The Critical Path can now be viewed on the Timeline. To do this, click on View located to the top right of your Timeline, and select the Critical Path.
- New % Complete column shows you how far along specific tasks are to completion.
- You can right-click on any column header to add or remove columns, hide the respective column, or sort your Timeline accordingly.
- Ability to View the Gannt Chart in the Entire Screen
- Hover on the Vertical separator between the Grid and the Gannt Chart
- In the circle that appears in the middle of the screen, you will see a left and right arrow
- Click on the Left arrow to see the Gannt in the full screen and the right arrow to see the grid in the full screen
- This change does not impact the Gannt charts in the following locations:
